How Pearl Street began
From a Mother’s Day classroom craft to Pearl Street.
Pearl Street began when I was a school teacher. I first decorated shells with my students as Mother’s Day gifts. Several parents told me they were so beautiful that I should sell them—so here I am.
Today, Pearl Street is a small Gold Coast studio turning real oyster and sea shells into colourful, useful keepsakes. Every piece is designed and finished by hand, celebrating the imperfect beauty that makes each shell different.
